Founded by Gabriel Legorburu, a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Utah University, L&L Engineering is driven by innovation and a passion for efficient engineering solutions. With a PhD and a diverse professional background, Gabriel brings a unique blend of academic excellence and practical expertise to the company. His academic career focused on energy modeling, optimization and advanced energy efficiency designs. His academic research is particularly notable for utilizing advanced machine learning and AI techniques to give unique insights for real-world questions. His publications appear in Applied Energy, Energy and Buildings, ASHRAE and the Journal of Food Engineering.
Gabriel’s professional career has focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. He has played a key role in energy modeling for both LEED-certified and non-LEED projects. He ensures that designs not only adhere to stringent efficiency standards but also align with client expectations regarding payback, upfront cost, and life-cycle cost. Furthermore, he has designed and been responsible for the successful execution of projects under the design-build and spec-build approaches. These projects have spanned from Football Stadiums, to optimized Waste-Heat Recovery projects, to all mechanical systems at large industrial manufacturing facilities.
Lastly, Gabriel is fascinated by the advancements of AI. He has followed the develop of AI and utilized AI tools starting in 2018 for an academic paper. Recently he has been building bespoke AI tools to streamline engineering workflow and provide novel insight into construction companies private data.
